Rowdy Trails

At its inception, Rowdy Trails Pale Ale was a collaborative idea between Altruist Brewing Company and the South Central MA Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (SCMA NEMBA). We set out to create a delicious, drinkable New England inspired pale ale that would be the perfect post-ride beer - not too heavy, not too light, but perfectly refreshing and reminiscent of time spent in the great outdoors.

The name of the beer, and specifically "Rowdy" is a slang term in the mountain biking community used to describe rough and technical riding, of which we have an abundance nearby. Epic local trails like Cow Stile, Knife Edge, Mountain Laurel, Harper's Way, One Million Turns, Back Forty, Homework, C-Line, Slapstick, 44 & Two, Murphy's Law and countless others encompass the best of what New England riding has to offer.

Through partnerships with the local community, trail builders, land managers, and businesses, SCMA NEMBA seeks to provide greater access to mountain biking through led group rides, free skills clinics, trail maintenance days, and ongoing events and education."
